New York Scholarships

In an age of rising tuition costs, it doesn't help that New York schools tend to be at the more expensive end of the spectrum. The tuition at public universities averages over $13,000 per year, while private universities can cost upwards of $34,000 per year. However, New York has numerous organizations that offer a variety of scholarships for everyone from athletes to women to minorities.

Think Big with New York Scholarships

New York offers scholarships to longtime state residents (who may use the money for schools nationwide) and for students at state and local colleges. The act of applying doesn't necessarily guarantee success, but it's better than not trying at all. Even $1,000 here or there can help make the tuition price tag more affordable. For maximum success, be sure to apply to as many applicable scholarships as you can. And it never hurts to start early.
